• The vervet monkey was previously classified as " Cercopithecus aethiops ".
• Some authorities consider this and all of the members of the genus " Chlorocebus " to be a single species, " Cercopithecus aethiops ".
• The species currently placed in the genus " Chlorocebus ", such as vervet monkeys and green monkeys, were formerly considered as a single species in this genus, " Cercopithecus aethiops ".
• Following the investigation in Indonesia, an experiment was conducted in the DeKalb County, Georgia with thirty-two monkeys : sixteen green monkeys ( " Cercopithecus aethiops " ) and sixteen crab-eating macaques.
